Terms of Service
Thank you for using Wahelp. These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Wahelp. By signing up or using Wahelp you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1Accepting and changing these terms
You accept these terms when you agree on first launch, or by registering or continuing to use Wahelp. If we change them we will publish the change on this page and update the date above; continuing to use the service after that counts as acceptance.
2Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent by e-mail or with a third-party account (Google / Apple / LINE / WeChat). There is no password, so please look after your mailbox and your device.
- One account per person. Accounts may not be lent, transferred or sold.
- Nicknames must not impersonate anyone or use reserved names (such as "Deleted user" or "Official").
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings; see Delete your account and data for what happens to your data.
3Our role (the most important section)
Wahelp is a matching platform: we provide the tools to post tasks, quote, chat, record deals and leave reviews. We are not a party to any task, nor an employer, contractor or agent, and we do not carry out any of the work or transport ourselves.
- The content, price, time, place and manner of a task are agreed between the two users.
- We currently do not collect or disburse payments: the agreed amount is settled directly between the two of you, in cash or by bank transfer. The payout account is stored for a future settlement feature; we do not pay anyone on your behalf today. If that changes, we will announce it in the app beforehand.
- We cannot guarantee that a task will attract quotes or that a quote will be picked, and we make no warranty about the quality, timeliness or safety of the work.
4Posting tasks and quoting
- What you post must be accurate: the budget, time, place and the things to be moved or repaired should reflect reality.
- A quote is a binding offer: if you are picked, you are expected to do the job as quoted. If you genuinely cannot, say so in the chat and decline the deal card promptly rather than going silent.
- Do not ask for personal information unrelated to the task, and do not use tasks or quotes as a channel for recruitment, sales or membership drives.
5Deals, performance and cancellation
- A deal can be reached two ways: picked in the app and accepted by the provider, or agreed by phone or in person and then recorded in the app. Both write to the same deal card and carry the same weight.
- The deal card is the record of what you agreed here. If the amount or the time needs to change, renegotiate and leave a record in the chat.
- A poster may cancel a task while it is open or after a deal; a provider may decline when picked. Cancelling an agreed task without reason affects your reviews and standing.
- A task still collecting quotes 24 hours after its date with no deal is closed automatically, and everyone who quoted is notified.
- If a picked provider neither accepts nor declines within 48 hours, the deal card is voided and the task reopens (the same as declining).
- After a provider marks the job finished, we remind the poster to confirm if they have not done so for a while.
- In a dispute or a policy breach we may terminate a task and record the reason. We never press "accept" or "confirm completion" on behalf of either side - those are yours to give.
6Fees
Wahelp currently charges neither side any fee and takes no commission on deals. If we start charging, we will announce it in the app and on this page beforehand, and you are free to stop using the service.
7What you must not do
- Post or take on tasks that are unlawful, or that require a licence you do not hold (see the next section).
- Carry or buy items restricted by law (medicines, unlicensed resale of alcohol or tobacco, controlled blades, protected plants and animals, and so on).
- Use tasks as a cover for lending money, job scams, pyramid schemes, recruitment fraud, sexual services or any other unlawful dealing.
- Post insincere quotes, undercut and then fail to perform, or push the other person off the platform to avoid leaving a record.
- Manipulate reviews, trade favourable reviews, or threaten someone with a bad review.
- Impersonate anyone, upload identity documents that are not yours, or post photos containing other people's personal information.
- Harass, insult, discriminate against or threaten anyone, or use their contact details for anything other than the task.
- Scrape the service automatically or interfere with its normal operation.
If you breach any of the above we may take content down, terminate the task and suspend your account, and we will report suspected crimes to the authorities.
8Tasks that need a licence (a note on Japanese law)
In Japan some work requires a licence or qualification before you may be paid for it. Please check before you quote:
- Carrying passengers for payment (informally "shiro-taku") requires a passenger transport licence.
- Carrying other people's goods for payment requires the relevant light-vehicle freight notification or licence.
- Acting as an agent in administrative procedures (residence status, company registration and the like) is reserved for gyoseishoshi, shiho-shoshi and lawyers.
- Electrical, gas, water and drainage work requires the corresponding trade qualifications.
Holding the right qualification is the provider's own responsibility. We do not vouch for any user's qualifications, and passing identity verification does not mean someone holds them.
9Your content
You keep the rights to the text and photos you post. You grant us a non-exclusive licence, limited to what is needed to display, transmit and back up that content on the service. We will not use it for advertising or transfer it to third parties for commercial use.
We may take down or delete content that breaches these terms or the law.
10Reviews
- Reviews must be based on a deal that actually happened.
- They must not contain insults, discrimination, other people's private details (phone numbers, addresses, document data), advertising, or anything unrelated to that deal.
- We may delete a review that breaches these terms and recalculate the recipient's rating; the deletion is recorded in the task history.
- A low score is not in itself a reason for removal - honest negative feedback is how other users judge.
11What "verified" means
Identity verification only means that we looked at the documents submitted and considered them consistent with the account. It is not a warranty or endorsement of anyone's skills, qualifications, quality of service or ability to perform, and it is not a guarantee by us of any outcome.
12Disputes
- Deal disputes should first be worked out between the two of you. The chat and the deal card are the clearest record, so keep negotiation and confirmation on the platform.
- Where needed we can look at the record of that deal (deal card, status history and, if necessary, the conversation) to help assess it, and we may terminate a task, remove offending content or suspend an account.
- We are not a party to your deal, take no responsibility for its outcome, and do not compensate either side.
- For personal injury, property damage or suspected crime, contact the police (110) or the consumer hotline (188) directly, and tell us as well.
13Disclaimers and limits of liability
- The service is provided "as is". We work to keep it stable but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- We are not liable for losses caused by force majeure, by third-party services (cloud, push, e-mail, app stores) or by your own device or network.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profit or lost data.
14Suspension and termination
If you breach these terms we may suspend your account. Suspension does not delete transaction data - agreed deals and reviews are kept as the other party's record. You can also delete your own account at any time; see Delete your account and data.
15Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Japanese law. If a dispute arises, the parties will first try to resolve it in good faith; failing that, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
